About The Artist

I was born in Belgium in 1988 and grew up as an only daughter and granddaughter. I’ve been a vegetarian for many years and have always had a deep love for animals. As a child, my grandfather often took me to drawing classes — something I truly enjoyed, just like spending time with my grandparents. Later on, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. Besides working as a wildlife artist, I’m also active as a graphic designer.
Nature is my greatest source of inspiration. I love spending time outdoors to unwind and recharge. Together with my boyfriend and my mom, I often travel — both within and outside Europe — to explore the beauty of nature. We’ve visited places like the United States, Mexico, Kenya, Bonaire, Spain, Italy, England, and France. These experiences have shaped my work: wildlife is always the most important subject. I love exploring the full spectrum — from fish, amphibians, birds, reptiles, mammals, and insects to mushrooms and plants.
My mission is to draw attention to the beauty of wildlife and the importance of biodiversity. I also want to highlight nature’s vulnerability and the need to protect it. How do you capture that beauty in the best way possible? I always start with a reference photo and aim to portray the subject as lifelike and detailed as I can. I currently work with colored pencils, mostly pastel. It takes time, but when it all comes together, it’s absolutely worth it.
I hope my art triggers the imagination and makes the viewer more aware of the natural world. I hope it inspires reflection — and perhaps even raises the question: “Are you thinking about us too? We’re still here, and we hope to keep surviving as a species.” A meaningful message, and at the same time, a gentle reminder in these times of climate change.
